CALLING FOR APPLICATION

Dear Respected Professors, Lecturers and Colleagues,

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the National University of Management (NUM) are pleased to invite you to apply to participate in a two-day Training the Teachers in Environmental Law Program established under ADB’s regional technical assistance project to strengthen environmental law in the Asia-Pacific region by developing environmental law champions through the Train-The-Teachers programs (“TTT Programs”). The program is open for law and non-law professors, lecturers and colleagues who are committed to promote the teaching of environmental law in Cambodia

The aims of the Cambodia TTT program are to:

1. Update environmental law teachers in Cambodia with best-practice concepts in pedagogy.

2. Introduce the draft Model Environmental Law Curriculum for the Greater Mekong Subregion (“Foundation of Environmental Law Model Curriculum”) and discuss its applicability to environmental law teaching in Cambodia.

3. Support and promote networking and sharing of knowledge between environmental law professors and academics in Cambodia.

The TTT program will explore lessons from the COVID-19 pandemic and innovations in distance learning and online pedagogy. The TTT program will also introduce to Cambodian environmental law academics the draft Model Environmental Law Curriculum for the Greater Mekong Subregion (“Foundation of Environmental Law Model Curriculum”). The TTT will also highlight recent developments in core environmental law subjects for the benefit of Cambodian academics.

Applications are now open for environmental law teachers in Cambodia. Any interested applicants are invited to fill in the information and submit CV (including a list of your publications, if any), a short bio and a passport photograph in this form (https://forms.gle/aU2WvXXDsTdJ73GfA) by October 24, 2022.  Participants will be selected on a competitive basis by NUM in consultation with ADB and only successful candidates will be notified on October 30, 2022. Significant weight will be given to the applicant’s motivations for teaching environmental law and/or participating in this training program. The travel, accommodation and food expenses of the selected participants will be met by the ADB under this Technical Assistance program.

The language of the training will be in English. Simultaneous translations in Khmer, however, working knowledge of the English language will be desirable.

More information about the training program can be found at: http://www.teachenvirolaw.asia/ and https://numer.digital.

Yours sincerely,

National University of Management
